The latest Annual Report reviewing diocesan compliance with the 2002 U.S. Bishops’ “Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People” records a decrease of 1,149 allegations of sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and others compared to the previous audit year. The report conducted by an independent auditing agency was published this week by the US Bishops’ Secretariat of Child and Youth Protection .
